Miami Fire Challenge

1 May 2004

May 1, 2004 post 569 went to their first ever explorer challenge, in Miami. The events were held at the City of Miami fire collage. The post left early Friday morning to be present at a meeting about the challenge the next day.

The day started off with a flag raising and the pelage of Allegiance, followed by some quick announcements. Then it was off to the events. There were numerous events such as Reaped extraction, Fire hose roll, CPR, a Combat challenge, and Bucket brigade.

After all the events and lunch, all the posts took part in a tug of war with a barrel on a cable strung across two telephone polls. The objective was each team of four gets a hose line and they each need to shoot water and try to get the barrel across the cable to the opposite side.

After the barrel put can the awards. Post 569 (us) won First place in the hose roll and Second place in the Bucket Brigade.
